UPDATE – THE FONZ HAS NOW FOUND AN EXCELLENT NEW HOME.

I just spoke with his new owners and they tell me he is settling in very well and they are thrilled to bits with him. Very soon they will commence attending an obedience club with him, although fonze is an obedient dog the activity will only serve to strengthen their bond and trust in a much faster manner.

A heartfelt congratulations to Joy Belles and the way she handled this matter – and also a heartfelt goodluck to Fonze and his new owners.

I received a call from my good friend Joy Belles last week. She had just received notification that one of the dogs that she had bred was surrendered at the lost dogs home and if I could help to bring him home.

Unfortunately the dog was not in good condition as can be seen from the photos, and despite that, he is happy, and very social; a testament to his excellent rottweiler character!! the dog is “Rotvel The Fonz”, and he holds a special place in my heart as he is the son of my old dog Rotvel Aussie Tzachmark.

Joy & The Fonz

I was fortunate enough to see this dog as a 6 weeks old puppy and he showed tremendous character from that early age. I also saw the dog some 18mths ago and again he displayed the excellent stable rottweiler character. Whilst he has obviously been mistreated along the way, he holds no grudges against humanity and is now looking for a loving home where he can be part of the family and live life to the fullest.

The Fonz is 5yrs old, de-sexed and will be brought back to excellent health by Joy. He will live with Joy until he is ready for his new home – just being back home has him on the right path to full recovery. He has been brought up with children and a normal family life however was rehomed due to a change in lifestyle circumstances.

The Fonz will make an excellent family companion, one that is both social but will react accordingly if his people are threatened. Updated photos of The Fonz will be posted as he recovers and gets back to his former self.

From my perspective, a huge congratulations to Joy for displaying the type of responsibility that makes for “A Grade” breeding/breeders. Joy is forever highlighting the responsibility that we as breeders have and the fact that it extends beyond which genetic combination is likely to produce, and I for one am happy to have Joy as one of my mentors. This is also a valuable lesson for microchipping.

All enquiries re adopting this beautiful male rottweiler should be made with Joy Belles of Rotvel Rottweilers on (02) 60265367.

Bear is medium to large in size, has very correct conformation, excellent substance and good bone strength. He has an excellent topline and super angles. His markings are great and he has a very correct, dry head piece with dark eyes and pigmentation.

Bear is an energetic male. Bear was raised in a family environment with children and another dog, however he is boisterous and will need to be supervised around children. He shows potential for obedience and will make an excellent companion for an adult or families that have owned rottweilers before.

Bear carries some of the most influential bloodlines ever seen in Australia and is a fine representation of those lines. He will excel in the show ring or as a family companion / protector.

Bear is for sale with full VCA registration and his vaccinations are up to date and he is also microchipped. Bear has not been x-rayed as yet but we can complete this for the new owners if they require us to.

Quarterly newsletter – Edition 1
28/4/2010
…from the editor
Welcome to the first edition of the Seeuferhause Rottweilers quarterly newsletter. This is my way of staying in touch with the many people that either has subscribed via the website or many others that have made direct contact with me over the years. The newsletter will give readers a deeper insight into Seeuferhause Rottweilers and many more insights into my personal philosophies related to rottweilers. I will provide much more in depth overview of the breeding program at Seeuferhause and the individual dogs that we have used in the program. I will also use the newsletter to inform of you the reader of upcoming events, litters, recommended products etc
I sincerely hope that you find this publication useful and informative. You will have access to this newsletter at least one week prior to it being published on the website. I’ll be playing catch up on a few items in this issue but promise to ensure the future editions will be current and up to date.

…news
The last few months have been hectic at Seeuferhause to say the least!! New website, new dog, new litters and on, and on….

WEBSITE – The Seeuferhause website has been relaunched and a massive thank you needs to go out to one of our puppy people; a very special and talented individual, Mr Shane Asanuma from QLD. Shane is the proud owner of a male from the Seeuferhause “T” litter. Shane spent countless hours putting together what I believe is the best rottweiler website in the country. He also had to put up with my countless requests for changes and revisions, and he still does. You’ll find the website at the same address: www.seeuferhauserottweilers.com.au & whilst I carry out all the day to day updates/maintenance of the site, all special requests are still directed to Shane. It gives me an excuse to stay in touch and hear all about his dog Rocky and how he is going – by all accounts he is going great and shows tremendous potential! I look forward to your feedback and any suggestions for improving the site.

LITTERS – At one stage we had puppies coming out of our ears!! 3 litters (T, U & V) one after the other certainly kept us busy. Thankfully we managed to ensure they all went to loving homes both here and interstate. Two of three litters were the first of our 2nd generation breedings and they lived up to our expectations, so now for the long road to becoming the adult dogs that showed they would be as puppies. One of the litters; “U”, was the repeat of the “R” litter and we certainly saw the super temperament this time around that we saw the first time. A super prospect is now with Paul Cree and his family as is a female on breeders’ terms with the Frank family in NSW.

NEW DOG – Boris Z Lebedova Dvora SCH/IPO II (Denny) joined us just before Christmas. This is a super strong male import from Slovakia, out of full German breeding. This dog represents some of the strongest working lines ever to grace the shores of Oz. Denny is interesting in the fact that he becomes stronger the more pressure that you put on him. He is extreme in his drives and has a crushing grip. My recent trip to Germany justified our decision to acquire this dog. I visited the vom Amtsbach kennel that owns 2 of the last progeny from Denny’s sire Quantus vom Haus Anin – both of these dogs can only be described as extreme. More info on Denny can be seen on his page: http://www.seeuferhauserottweilers.com.au/male-dogs/boris-aka-denny/ STOP PRESS: we have just had our first Boris puppy from Von Zennith Falke (Colt von den Golan Hohen X Von Zennith Adolfa); Willi is coming along nicely and is showing the strength I expect from these lines. I’ll keep you posted on his development.

ROCKY VOM ALLNATAL – we have just received the official, certified copy of Rocky’s OFA report, which will now be submitted to Dogs Vic to ensure that we can use this important dog via his frozen semen. Rocky represents some very “old working blood” that is becoming extinct at a fast pace. Keep an eye out for a planned breeding with Rocky over the next year. The results of the report are great and will be posted on Rocky’s page soon as Dogs Vic confirm acceptance. You can find more information on Rocky at his page http://www.seeuferhauserottweilers.com.au/frozen-semen/rocky-vom-allnatal/

SPONSORSHIP – On May 9th & 10th, Seeuferhause Rottweilers is one of the major sponsors of the Australian Service Dog Association, 2010 National Service Dog trials. This is exciting for us as it puts us amongst the people that are the end user group of service dogs in this country. This is a tremendous opportunity to network and try to lift the Rottweiler profile amongst that community. I’ll be sure to provide some detailed information / photos in the next edition.

FORTHCOMING LITTERS – We have 2 litters on the verge of hitting the ground in the next 2 weeks. Seeuferhause Jutta is pregnant to Boris, and Von Zennith Shakira is pregnant to Clyde. http://www.seeuferhauserottweilers.com.au/litters/seeuferhause-planned-litters/
both of these litters bring together descendants of the Aki line which for us is exciting as we believe that this line, once developed will produce very string working rottweilers, and in future will combine very well with our Noris / Graf line.

Boris X Jutta – this litter is one that we have very high expectations from. I anticipate that the progeny from litter will be physically strong, and very strong in temperament. The look will be that of dark markings, pigment and eyes; very muscular, medium sized dogs. I expect head types to be strong and as mentioned before, high prey very dynamic temperaments and super strong nerves suitable for any application. We have had very strong demand for this litter, so if you are interested please contact me to secure your puppy. Another very interesting and exciting aspect of this breeding is that Jutta is the first Seeuferhause “breeders terms” female to be included in our breeding program – testament to the fact that when good people are involved things can be a great success!!

Clyde X Shakira – this litter is very exciting in that it brings together 2 descendants of the Aki line, and in particular through a Linebreeding on one of Aki’s most successful / potent sons; Hero vom Hohegeiss, via the understated / underused Basko vom Obergrombacher Schloss. I expect this litter to produce large, strong very substantial rottweilers. Markings will be dark, as will the pigment and I also expect good strong heads and bone. The drive characteristics should be: high drive, high prey and super grips, high levels of aggression and strong nerves.

…remember WILLY, well he’s a big boy now!!!!

Now 11mths old and weighing approx 50kg, Willy is more of a beast than he was at 8 weeks when we sold him. High drive and extremely confident Willy is everything we want Seeuferhause Rottweilers to be known for. I am certainly looking forward to what this dog will mature into over the 12-18mths. He already has a stunning resemblance to his maternal GGF Balou vom Silberblick and with some luck will be a producer of this type of strong rottweiler characteristics.

MICROCHIPPING
At Seeuferhause we believe in the integrity of our breeding program and as such support all measures that allow for the traceability of our pedigrees.

One such process is that of, microchipping. This however poses an issue that as breeders of performance animals we need to be mindful of – PAIN. The microchipping process is a painful one, if you dont believe me grab a spike of some sort and push it under your skin……Yikes!!!!

I believe that this process is best completed at the second vaccination and not the first. We generally vaccinate the 1st time at 6weeks, and this is a neccessity so that we can commence the socialising programme of the puppies, however microchipping is not. If you also think about the entire vaccination event, car trip, new room, strangers handling the pups etc you can forgive the little beasts the microchipping till a later date.

As such we have made arrangements with our veterinary clinic (Fawkner Veterinary Hospital – Dr Tony Meese) for microchipping at our cost, for all Seeuferhause puppies at the second vaccination. A further benefit of this is the microchip is automatically in the name of the current owner of the dog as opposed to the breeders name – history shows that people very rarely change the ownership details on microchip databases leading to a wild goose chase if something untoward were to happen.

We have now successfully trialled this initiative with our U and V litters, and it will be standard practise from here on. Another benefit for us is the feedback that we receive from the vet on how our pups are travelling.

DNA
The topic of DNA is now common place in most discussions with various breeders and it is certainly a process that is here to stay and in my belief will be mandatory in due course.

We are currently investigating the options available to us and in due course all of our breeding stock will be DNA profiled. As an extension of this, any stud dog that may be considered for inclusion in our program at that time will also need to be DNA profiled in order to be approved.

We will keep you posted….

The Seeuferhause “V” litter had their first big trip off the premises yesterday.

Quite a job getting 8 lively pups into the crate for the trip. And an even bigger job carrying them in to the vet.

All went very well and they all showed confident, outgoing personailities, making themselves right at home, leaving me to mop up the mess!!

The puppies were given a clean bill of health by the vet and are now ready to accept visitors. Keep an eye on our current litters page for updated photos in the next day or so (soon as the weather fines up in Melbourne.

Speaking of weather, we have had some awesome thunder storms in Melbourne over the last few days and the pups have shown no reaction to the massive thunder cracks – good signs!!!

The Seeuferhause “U” litter is all sold.

One of our lovely boys has made his way to QLD and another couple are headed for NSW. The rest of the litter is staying put in Melbourne. This litter showed a lot of promise and the early feedback from one owner is that his little boy is showing loads of temperament.

The main reason this litter was repeated was to try and produce another female like the R litter; we have one and she is being placed with a great family on breeders terms – so keep an out eye for the continuation of this great bitch line over the next few years. We’ll post photos of these guys as we get them.

Good Luck to the new owners!!!

The exciting Seeuferhause “V” litter is now available for viewing. They are 5 weeks old and will be vaccinated late next week. There are 4 males and 4 females – photos can be seen on our current litters page.

The puppies are coming along really well – they are confident, inquisitive, and full of energy. These puppies will be suitable for any application work, show or family companions. They carry the strong working lines of our 2 stud rottweilers; Doc & Clyde and the very strong conformation lines of Arkon vom Hause Zillas

We expect these puppies to be large, substantial rottweilers with excellent conformation, very nice heads, excellent coulours/markings and super working drive.
