Nero is my boy! We are currently training and preparing for IGP trials. Our 1st step will be to achieve our BH sometime during 2025 and then we go from there!
Nero comes to us via the technology of Artificial Insemination. His sire Boris; is a Rottweiler we used to own who unfortunately passed away in 2011. Boris was one of those special, genetically gifted dogs that came to us when we really didn’t have the right, complimentary females. Despite this, Boris proved his ability to produce strong, working Rottweilers in his likeness which ensured we were compelled to have his semen collected, frozen and stored until we had the bitch line ready to go.
Enter our imported female, Bluelady vom Checkpoint Charlie (aka Chilli) (imp GMY) and her first breeding utilising imported semen from Holland; the world renowned Ercas vom Kinzigtal (aka Ivo). This breeding produced Nero’s dam, Seeuferhause Sovil GRACE (AI) (aka Lily). Lily is the pocket rocket that Boris needed to be able to fully express himself through his progeny.
Nero is a small to medium male. What some may think he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in character and temperament. Always ready to go, always reliable and always impressive!
Nero brings the best of both his parents; his mother’s FIRE and his father’s ICE!
Nero has a strong willingness to work, is clear headed and takes pressure situations in his stride not batting an eyelid. In typical working type, he answers every question posed by his adversaries. During his training Nero shows a propensity to learn quickly and he is forgiving to my at times lack of skill. He is an active participant in all our activities and keeps coming back for more.
Nero excels in all 3 phases of IGP dog sport. His tracking is intense, can be a little quick at times but is accurate and enduring. He is capable of dealing with demanding conditions and perseveres to the end. His obedience is precise, spirited and dynamic while demonstrating an agility and nimbleness that is not normally associated with Rottweilers. His character work is to be explored however he shows a natural affinity to this and we have no reservations he will excel in this discipline as he does the other.
At the time of publishing this page we have welcomed Nero’s first litter – we have great expectations from Nero and the progeny he will produce.
